What is a Number Line?
A number line is like a path of numbers in order!
It helps us see how numbers follow each other from small to big. Today we'll explore numbers from 0 to
10,
learning to count, add, and find numbers on our special number path.
How to Use a Number Line
1️⃣ Start at 0 - The beginning of our number journey
2️⃣ Hop to the right - Each step takes us to a bigger number
3️⃣ Count as you go - Say each number out loud as you land on it

Parent Tips 🌟
- Hopscotch counting: Draw a number line with chalk outside and have your child physically jump from number to number while counting aloud.
- Everyday numbers: Point out number lines in real life - thermometers, rulers, or volume controls are great examples.
- Story problems: Create simple stories like "If you have 3 apples and get 2 more, how many do you have?" and use the number line to solve.
